ABC Jesus Loves Me

We no longer are creating our own homeschooling curriculum. After spending hours upon hours of creating a "suitable" toddler curriculum, I stumbled upon www.abcjesuslovesme.com an amazing site with great lessons for ages 2-5. We still are working on getting into a rhythm and figuring out what should be done with 2.5 year old Big H and 8 month old little H. But I would recommend this program to anyone.

1. It is free.
     Yes you can order the lesson and workbooks for $25 each, but you can simply use your media tool of choice to get lessons, and then print as needed at home!!!! Hubby definitely likes that.
2. Bible Lessons
    Yes it contains age appropriate Bible lessons that aren't super elaborate or worksheet based. Simply sharing verses, stories and songs with your little one.
3. Easy to use.
   It provides lists of ideas, already sectioned out for each school year. There are plenty of checklists, and ideas that can be modified for your own use. We simply print out the "I am learning..." poster put it on the fridge and change weekly. That way as we pass it we can remember to work on something.

Accomplishments!

So proud of my little one, she is trying to sing ABC's and can find circle, star, and heart given a set of shapes!!! Also, working on potty training at 19 months and has successfully done so 6 times in the first week!!

WOW!

So after becoming severely sick with morning sickness in Sept, I threw everything out the window. Maybe we can start to get on track again, but with baby #2 due in May we might not finish alphabet. But seeing as how my little girl is only 1.5 I'm not too worried! Let's see if I can get on track now! Prayers appreciated!

A/B

We have been talking about the letters a and b because my daughter says Baby all the time, and it sometimes gets convoluted into A_B.

We have also been practicing colors. She calls everything yellow! We try to get blue in there but it doesn't always work:)

I am so proud of her for trying to please verbally not just sign. The "Peas" is soo cute!

School?!?!

Yikes! Is it really Labor Day? Well I had every intention of starting "school" tomorrow. But life crept up on us and well, it looks like its an unschooling year. Which for a one year old, is really ok! I do intend to focus on the letter A, number 1 and circles in the next two weeks though.

Well we have no room for the learning poster I want to use, so with a one year old we are just going to make "school" basket and fill it with the weekly focuses. A felt letter, number magnet, felt or foam shape, and other various circles, and library books that talk about these concepts.

I am also going to be focusing on the verse Romans 6:23 "All have sinned..." by practicing orally singing a verse song from one of our Christianson CDs. We will also be starting the AWANA Puggles program at church this week. So we can focus on God made light. (I'm the Puggles leader, and this is our first year for it).

Revival

We have been experiencing Revival in our church this past week! Pastor Mike Manor has been visiting and preaching. While I missed 2 sermons on Sunday due to a migraine, I have greatly enjoyed the rest of the week. I will be recapping what God is doing in my life and in my heart over on my devotions blog.
